This week we…
Get to visit Shriners 3 times.
Get Samuel fitted for his new “boots”.
Get his new “Superman” fabric fiberglassed on those same “boots””.
Get to meet up with Carrie (formerly of New Day) and her new little sweetie, Cora and some very blessed new parents to one of New Day’s little sweethearts.
Get to hang out with my entire family in the in between times.
Sounds like a good week to me!
Please be praying along with us for Samuel. We have been told that this first set of prosthetics are important for him to accept, so as to build on for future more complex pairs. Last visit he saw the demos and said, “Ewwwwww!” Hopefully all the coaching we’ve been doing will get him into it. He was doing the wave in his carseat on the way down when we told him we weren’t going to be getting needles (he always asks if a needle will be given at the doctor’s office), but instead that it was time for his new “boots”. haha
Shelley, I’m praying that Samuel will accept his new “boots” and that all will go well.
What a JOY that you will get to meet up with Carrie and Cora! That will hopefully bolster Samuel for any hurdles the new boots present. (As if he needs bolstering. He seems so happy judging from the photos!) Enjoy time with your family as well! What a blessing that Shriners is providing and that so much is coordinating together for you guys 🙂 Can’t wait to see the Superman boots! 🙂
Hugs,
Valerie
I am excited for your family. What an amazing blessing. (We are waiting for our son to come home from Yinchuan.) I am excited to follow along with your family on this journey.
Praying for you in this busy week! So jealous that you get to meet Carrie! When do the other New Day parents leave?
I had such a fun time meeting you! Valerie’s and Kristi’s comments make me laugh – believe me, I’m no where near as cool in person as you might imagine! 🙂 heh. Seeing you and Samuel was such a blessing… brings everything full-circle for me. If you don’t mind, could you email me a couple of the pics you took of us together? (Any of the group/individual shots are fine.) I should have busted out my own camera, but Cora was a bit too much of a handful for me! 😉
