“While We Wait…”
I don’t have anything profound to intro this link up, but while it is NOT a link to Samuel (sorry!), just do yourself a favour and take a peek right {here}.
It’s the kind of thing that makes me want to shout, AMEN!
And on a personal note, here is a little face to smile at today…
thanks to a new friend who volunteered at New Day recently.
We just received some new measurements for Samuel and we are so pleased to get the chance to do something that has become a family tradition with each of our adoptions. The pulling out of the tape measure. We love to size up how big our new addition is and the kids all love comparing against themselves. These little traditions make his coming all the more real.
We can’t wait to have you with us buddy. You have some eager siblings all ready to have you join our herd.
Boy, the internet sure is a wonderous thing, isn’t it?

Samuel Update #2 (August)
(Take a look at the previous post for July’s update too…)
Here is our very treasured August update from New Day. What a blessing to hear how bonded he is to his nanny. I agonize to know the hurt that he faces in leaving those he loves and the place that has given him safety and the chance to be a kid. On the other hand (and there is always a flipside, isn’t there?) What an amazing foundation he is being given. A foundation that helps him learn all those basics (like the names for body parts and the fact that sometimes the answer must be “no”). A foundation that involves giving and receiving love and affection. A foundation that allows him to say goodbye and know there will be a hello again.
Samuel is 2 Years 6 Months Old.

Samuel’s spoken language has become quite good. He can say and identify his nose, ears, hands and toes! Samuel sometimes says funny things like, “Mama will hold me if I don’t cry.” Now, every time I remind Samuel to not cry or get too upset about something, he replies, “Mama, hold me!”. When he says this his facial expression is so cute! When it is time for me to get off work, Samuel comes quickly to say goodbye. He touches my face, hugs my neck and gives me a kiss. When I tell him that I have to go he says, “Mama is off work now!” He then creeps down off of my lap, gives me five and throws me one last kiss. This little boy is too precious! What a blessing he is to so many hearts.

Samuel Update #1 (July)
We are amazingly blessed to know that our son is in such an amazing place. He is prayed for, kept careful watch over and even loved on. We are even more appreciative of the fact that New Day has allowed us the opportunity to receive updates monthly along with his special sponsor families. It does this Mommy’s heart so good.
We received this first update awhile ago:
Samuel is 2 Years 5 Months Old.

Samuel’s best friend is Jennifer. Because Jennifer is funny, Samuel is always smiling! These two good friends (and roommates!) are always talking to each other in their own little language which only they can understand. Samuel doesn’t like it when other children are close to me, and if one is sitting on my lap, he crawls over and plops himself down on my leg. He has such an adorable smile! As summer has come, Samuel has started wearing shorts. When he see’s the little ‘foot’ on his left leg, he smiles at me and says, “Look at it, mom, foot!” I’m so happy to see how happy Samuel is, and am incredibly blessed to be apart of his life.
